A List of Songs My Neuro Brain Made
I have no idea when or why this list was made. But it was. I have no more context.
Gone - NSync: JT's first single. We can fight on this and you'll be wrong. The harmonies are so good. SO GOOD. ALL OF THEM. HOW DID LANCE HIT THOSE NOTES?? HE'S A BASS. Oh. Wait. I see what I did there.
Come on over Baby (All I Want is You) - Christina Aguilera: I was more focused on trying to get the choreography in this video more than the lyrics. In 2020 I still haven't learned the moves or all the words. This is not shocking. No matter how much I love this song.
Waterfalls - TLC: I'm so glad I can laugh now at getting these lyrics wrong for a decade. That's what happens when you don't have access to lyrics in a CD or access to the internet, children.
I Get Lonely - Janet Jackson: I knew EXACTLY what track it was three notes into it. I'm amazed at the Queen of Whispering Five Notes because I can't hit a single one and she's made a career span across 40 years and I have no choice but to stan. Ps. This song is 50% hips.
It's Gonna Be Me - NSync: Listen… Justin had the lead line. But JC still carried the whole track's power vocals. And this is really dangerous to hear in the car when you know the choreography. Almost died twice.
Always Be My Baby - Mariah Carey: LINGER OOOOOOOOOON THIS SWIIIIIIIIIIING. Wait is it...just do do do do do dum? There's not a nayhoo in here? Banger. Forever. Five year old Jordan thought this was epic 15 year old Jordan downloaded this as a ringtone at some point. Still would maybe do it for the four people that have ringtones in my phone. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH YAAAAYHHHHHHHHHH ANDIWILLLINGEROOOOOOOON OOOOOOOH YOUUUUUUUU 'ND IIIIIIIIIIIIII WILLLL AAAAAALWAAAAYYYYS BEEEEEE
Playas Gon' Play- 3LW: I'm about to be 30 and I'm gonna make a confession it's 2020 and I'm still no fully sure what shot caller's gon' call means. Like...I'm making a strong guess. And I'm probably still wrong. I wish I remembered what the 3rd girl's name is because she's the lead and is doing a pretty good job. Especially for someone who was not a Cheetah Girl.
Brown Eyes - Destiny's Child: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BROWN EYES. BIIIIIIIIIIIIII-. That was my exact reaction when that baby piano started. This is EXACTLY what love songs for middle schoolers need to be. I KNOW THAT HE LOVES ME 'CUS IT'S OBVIOUS. I KNOW THAT HE LOVES ME 'CUS IT'S ME HE TRUSTS.
That's When I'll Stop Loving You - NSync: This is a lot more dramatic than I recall. These.....is this...is this a second ending chorus?? Has that always been there? I honestly only understand about 60% of what JC Chasez was saying. But they came with big vocals. Are you seeing the pattern I'm laying down in the marble stone tablets, here?
The Way That I Love You - Ashanti: This piano player is MURDERING these keys. I'm more into the piano than the vocals that do exist.
Miss Independent - Ne-Yo: Who knew a hat could carry a whole song and make it interesting?
This I Promise You - NSync: Is that a nayoo in the beginning?? Omg. I totally knew the Spanish version of this. OHMYGOD THEY HAD A SPANISH VERSION OF LIKE FIVE OF THEIR SONGS, RIGHT??? *spends the entire song remembering I knew random NSync love songs in Spanish.*
Stranger In My House - Tamia: WHEW the hand gestures I was doing was that pointed one with the head tilted to the side with the,"Who are you? GTFO." / Stranger Danger Face. A whole mood came on when this track started.
For You I Will - Monica: This song is LENGTHY. And I was too grown to be promising anyone that I'd be the sun. THE SUN?! THE WHOLE ASS SUN?!?! Bruh. Nah.
God Must've Spent A Little More Time on You - NSync: Another song that's incredibly dangerous when you know all the choreography. Y'all might remember Ramen Justin in those shots but yet again, JC had the major notes in this one. Lemme die on this hill because I'm ready to.
Cinderella - Cheetah Girls: LET'S GO. LEEEEET'S GOOOOOOOO. LET'S GO. AM I INDEPENDENT? AM I A BABY GAY??? AM I BOTH??? YES. LET'S GOOOO. I'D RATHER RESCUE MYSSSEEEEELF. I CAN SLAAAAAAY MY OWN DRAGOOOOONNS. WHEW. Y'ALL. Y'ALL.
That was it. Gonna definitely need a camera in my car to react all of these in real time. Because it took a lot of time to pause and record me yelling in the air for half of these tracks.
Until next time.
And that’s where we end, folks. I have no idea what playlist/mixtape this is. I literally found all of this while I was looking for a bio I wrote 4 months ago in the little notepad browser extension I have.
I’m getting back to the music. Because wow. 2024. What a year for music. But also wow. 2024, what a year for life. I’ve already made about 5 playlists since November.
Don’t worry. They’re coming soon.
Babes was heavy on the NSync. This track list goes hard!
